Ah, I had my last lesson with my tuition girls today. :( When they begged me to continue tutoring them, my heart dissolved into a pile of goo. Even while they were conversing in Malay, I could tell that that they really wanted me to stay.

We took these photos illegally. Jameela was telling me of how this girl had to stay back when she was caught taking a picture with a tutor. Aye, their world is full of restrictions.



I have 6 girls in my class but these 3: Jameela, Anisah and Anirah are the ones who always turn up.

"CHER! Re-schedule your timetable lahhh."

I could feel myself falling apart when they lingered behind the gate (security's real tight over there) to wave me off.

"Bye Cher! Take care! We'll miss you!"

They may get on my nerves at times, but for the many moments that they make me smile, I am tempted to just continue the tuition even if it means travelling down to Kovan every week. (And I'm staying in hall!)

Let's see how my timetabling goes? :( It doesn't help that the only available slot to meet them is on a Thursday evening.

P/S: NTU gave me a 3 day school week. Monday to Wednesday! The joys of taking a Biz degree.

I've come to realise that my blog has evolved into a photo blog of sorts, dedicated to events in my life. Somehow, the words don't come as freely these days.

Still, there are many blogs out there whom I surf on a regular basis, because they give me food for thought. I want to share some of my good reads!

STEVEN FURTICK's - (: (: (: (: (: Deserves 5 smileys.

XIANG's - Her's is frank and very, very personal.

SHUYI's - I've been reading hers for a long time and I still love it.

WEITING's - One of the best writers I know. (:

JIEHUI's - Please visit this everyday if possible. It's like a treasure trove.

CHERMAINE's - She's brilliant. I still recall I was the one who helped her set up her blog in Sec 2? Or was it Sec 1.

FUNG's - I use this to keep in touch with her life and how she's been doing with ministry & God. Because we don't get to meet up as often these days.

HANYANG's - I doubt he knows that I read his blog, but who can resist ruminating on good writing?

ZEL's - She's been very diligent with her posts. (: I learn new things from my sheep too.

JIEXUN's - This guy has matured a lot. Hahaha.

OLI's - I love how honest she is. Your vocabulary makes me jealous. (:

DERRICK's - He's very funny. He has a very unique perspective towards many things.

XANTHE's - Yes dear, I read your blog. Love the images on yours too! You are wonderful with words.

NIGHT CYCLING

Let's see - ECP to Kallang Stadium to Esplanade to Taka to Newton to Dunearn Road to Macritchie to Balestier to Boon Keng to Paya Lebar to Bedok to ECP. I loved the bakery that we stopped at; they were baking at an unearthly 3am. And the photo whoring on the empty road at Paya Lebar. (:

Oh, I nearly got killed by a taxi which clearly had the right of way. My fault, lah.

This was us at 5.50am upon reaching our final destination. Most of us were walking zombies by then.

Thanks Lenard, Sengkim, Meili (the only other girl!), Yongsheng, Daniel, Anthony, Weiliang, Zhenxing, Zach, Kargea and Sherwin for the company that night.

Special mention goes to Yeo Jiehui for being our safety driver and entertainer. You were so patient with all of us.

Another gathering on Wed with the NBS gang. This was taken at Fish&Co before some of us left for ECP. (The group got bigger afterward and they stayed till the place closed for the night!) I'll blog about the night cycling when I get hold of photos from Sengkim.

I went back to Hwachong today. The right wing still looks pretty much the same.

This is the concourse, also known as the banner painting area. It happens to be my favourite place in school. I like how the place (when empty, of course) is peaceful, windy and quiet.

So much of my school life took place here - the last MROC during YLTC, pioneering sessions, pouring buckets of water on Lujie and Eric during their birthday, watching Aaron talk to the juniors on the last day of YLTC, caregroups (sandwich party!), seed meetings, mugging when all the benches were occupied, packing exam kits for the J2s, the frantic prayer meets before A Level papers, the even more anxious prayer meet right before we received our A Level results...


The toilets have been revamped! They're no longer dark and repulsive. I recall that when I visited Hwachong in Sec 4, I was so turned off by the toilets. Haha.
